MIDDLE SCHOOL ATHLETIC ELIGIBILITY
To be athletically eligible, students must not fail more than one course each nine weeks.

Eligibility for:

Football, Volleyball, & Cross-CountryΒ will be declared based upon the 4thΒ nine weeksβ grades the previous year.Β (Exception: ALL sixth grade students will be eligible.)

Fall CheerleadingΒ will be declared based upon 4thΒ nine weeksβ grades the previous year.Β (Exception: ALL newΒ sixth grade students will be eligible.)

Basketball & Winter CheerleadingΒ will be declared based upon the 1st nine weeksβ grades.Β Β (Students must maintain grade eligibility requirements for the 2ndΒ nine weeks.)

WrestlingΒ will be declared based upon 2ndΒ nine weeksβ grades.

Track & GolfΒ will be declared based upon 3rdΒ nine weeksβ grades.
All student athletes will be required to sign an athletics code of conduct prior to participation in any Eastbrook Athletics.Β
Athletes and managers not meeting eligibility requirements are not to practice or play in any interscholastic events.Β The eligibility day will be the Wednesday following the end of the grading period.Β Athletes ejected from sporting events for unsportsmanlike conduct will be suspended fromΒ the next game.Β Activities that violate rules stated in this handbook will be dealt with as outlined in this handbook.Β
This is a reminder that next week is the end of the third grading period is Friday, March 14th.
Please refer to the EMS Handbook policy listed above related to athletic eligibility for students here at EMS. I encourage you to show this to your student if they are struggling to keep their grades where they need to be at and are motivated and expecting to participate in a winter sport.Β All students must meet the expectations above to be athletically eligible.Β
